Samsung Reveals The New Galaxy S2 Tablets


South Korean tech giant has revealed the Galaxy S2 tablets, a direct competitor to Apple’s iPAD Air 2.


The Galaxy S2 is ultra-slim for a tablet, it is only 5.6mm thick, which is distinctively thinner than iPad Air 2 and Sony Xperia Z4 tablet which got huge praise for their thickness at only 6.1mm.

Samsung latest range of flagship tablets would hit store-shelves in August.

On the specs sheet, the Samsung Galaxy S2 tablets would feature a metal frame. It would be equipped with fingerprint scanners. It will come in two variant, one with 9.7-inch display and another with 8-inch display.

According to Samsung Tomorrow, the 9.7-inch S2 tablet will weigh 389gram while the other variant will weigh 265grams.

The two variants will have Super AMOLED displays at 2048x1536p resolutions, both run on Android Lollipop 5.0, and have a 64-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor. Samsung has also equipped both variant with 3GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and 2.1 selfie camera.

“The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features,” said JK Shin, CEO and president of IT & mobile division at Samsung Electronics.
