Ogun State Police Command Parade 27 Suspects


Twenty seven suspects who were arrested from various locations and operation in Ogun state were yesterday August 26, paraded by the state’s police command.


The suspects, who are mainly teenagers were arrested by police operatives attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence (DCII) of the command.

Items recovered from them include 10 vehicles and several ammunition of different calibres.

The state police PRO, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that some of those arrested were the notorious cultists that have been terrorizing Ijebu Ode lately.

It was gathered that the command had been on the trail of the notorious boys who have also been involved in many killings and crimes in Ijebu- Ode.

Two notorious cultists, who are confirmed members of a cult group, Aiye confraternity, were also nabbed for armed robbery.

They are; Ahmed Olasunkanmi, a.k.a.’Ahmed, the Killer’, 25, and Sadiq Muili ,24.

Other suspected cultists arrested for armed robbery include; Adewale Olumide (28), Rafiu Oluwatosin (27),and Ifeanyi Idor (27).

Also paraded by the state police boss, Abdulmajid Ali, at the police headquarters, Eleweran -Abeokuta, are another set of armed robbers, who specialise in car snatching at gun-point

They include; Ifeanyi Okeke, Abiodun Taiwo, Ola Hameed and Odion Ozasuwa.

The command apprehended and also paraded additional 14 suspected cultists from Agbara area of the state.

Idris Adejuwonm and Muideen Bello were also paraded as they were arrested in connection with the August 5, 2015 killings in Ijoko Otta in Ado – odo/Ota local government area of the state.

Preliminary investigations, according to the PPRO, revealed that the cultists have been involved in series of armed robbery including snatching of cars within major cities and along highways.

The state commissioner of police, CP Abdulmajid Ali, charged officers and men of the command to go after hoodlums and criminals in the state and make sure the state is safe for all and sundry.

Ali vowed to deal decisively, in accordance with provisions of the law, with any criminal or individual who may want to foment trouble in the state.

The state’s police boss,however has directed that the suspects be charged to court immediately after proper investigations.
