A man identified as Syed Farooqi (Also from the middle east) and a woman – third suspect in custody suspected of carrying out a deadly shooting at a centre for the disabled in the Southern California City of San Bernardino on Wednesday were killed in a shootout with police, while a third person was detained, police said.
The slain suspects were armed with assault rifles and handguns, San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan told reporters, adding that investigators were looking at the possibility that the suspects had left an explosive device at the scene of the shooting.
Fourteen people were killed and 14 others injured when the gunmen opened fire at the social service agency. San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan said in a televised news briefing that the suspects possibly made their getaway in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.
No possible motive behind the attack has been made known yet though the authorities has not ruled out “terrorist” attack as well.
