Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has entered the Guinness Book of Records as the shortest serving OPEC President. On Wednesday 2 December, 2015, Kachikwu became OPEC president to replace Diezani Alison-Madueke. On Friday 4 December, he attended the 168th ordinary meeting of the organisation in Vienna Austria, his first meeting at the helm. Same day, a fresh election was conducted. Mohammed Al Sada was elected to succeed him as the president.
