Borno state Governor, Hon Kashim Shettima has on Thursday presented the keys of 30 newly acquired Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles to the Nigerian Army. The Governor made the presentation when the Minister of Defence, Bri. Gen. Mansur Dan Ali paid him a courtesy call at the Maiduguri Government House.
The vehicles which cost the Borno State Government more Three Hundred Million Naira is aimed at improving and enhancing operational capacity of Army to fight the insurgency in the state.
Earlier on, the Minister said the purpose of his visit to the state is to see his officers in the battle file and also commended the Civilian JTF for assisting the military in the fight against Boko Haram and further assured the Governor that members of the CJTF are presently being screened with the intention of absorbing them into the military.
Furthermore, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Governor for finding time to receive him and also thank the him for all the support he has been rendering to the Military.
