Legendary Singer Dies After Battle with Cancer Just One Week After He Release His Album

            

Known as one of the most successful artiste of the 20th century, legendary English singer, who just released a new album last week on his birthday, has died at age 69. 


English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor, David Bowie, who is one of the most successful artists of the 20th century, has died at the age of 69 after loosing battle with cancer for 18 months.

Known as the creator of glam rock, the influential singer, songwriter and producer, also excelled at art rock, soul, hard rock, dance pop, punk and electronica during his eclectic 40-plus-year career. He just released his 25th album, "Blackstar" on Jan. 8, which was his birthday.


Bowie's son Duncan Jones confirmed the news and posted a touching photograph of himself with his father

A spokesman for Bowie said this morning: 

'David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.


While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.'

His latest album "Blackstar" was released just last Friday, although Bowie had rarely performed or been seen in public in recent months.

Bowie's sonn Duncan Jones, also known as Zowie Bowie, confirmed the news, writing on Twitter: 'Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all.'
