This is a video footage of a rare interview granted by the soldier that exposed the EkitiGate saga involving military men and top PDP chieftains.
Sagir Koli is the Nigerian army captain who put his career and life on the line when he exposed the 2014 rigging of the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
He intercepted a secret plot by top PDP chieftains to rig the gubernatorial election in Ekiti state in the year 2014 while accompanying his superior, Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh, who was a secret meeting with then Minister of Defense Musiliu Obanikoro, former Osun State Senator, Iyiola Omisore, former Minister for Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, Anambra politician Chris Uba, gubernatorial candidate, Fayose, and others.
He intelligently made a secret audio recording of the plot to intimidate members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to successfully rig the gubernatorial race.
In the audio recording, which was subsequently published by SaharaReporters, Mr. Obanikoro was heard bribing General Momoh to use the military to deny APC voters access to polling stations and arrest leading opposition politicians in Ekiti State. The politicians were also recorded plotting with General Momoh about how to use their tactics in Ekiti to rig another election in Osun State.
Sagir Okoli fled to the United States of America for protection from powerful forces in the military. He has been reabsorbed into the Nigerian army with commendation from the leadership of the military which his evidence is being thoroughly weighed.
