See How Lagosians Smoked Out a Thief From the Bush Like a Rabbit

In the attempt to apprehend thieves, members of a community reportedly set a bush on fire and smoked out one of them, while the others allegedly escaped.

Residents of Gberigbe, Ikorodu, Lagos state, yesterday, smoked out a young man whose gang always terrorize the Jabe area of the community, especially on Sundays.

Daily Post reports that the unidentified man and his gang ran into the bush after stealing cell phones and other valuables.

The man and his gang were said to have jumped the fence around their victim's house, destroyed the burglary proof in one of the windows through which they entered the apartment.

However, luck ran out on them when their victim on sighting them, sent a message to her neighbour, who in turns alerted other members of the community.

When the thieves noticed they had been surrounded, reports say they jumped out through the fence and ran into a nearby bush.

In their attempt to apprehend the thieves, members of the community reportedly set the bush on fire and smoked out one of them, while the others allegedly escaped.

Following his apprehension, he was reportedly beaten to a pulp and was almost being lynched but for the response of a team of policemen from Ijede Division, who reportedly took him away to the station.
