According to a statement by Babachir Lawal, the secretary to the government of the federation, the Nigerian government has sacked the heads of 26 agencies and parastatals.
The President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has issued the following statement announcing the removal of 26 heads of federal parastatals and agencies.
The list adds to the heads of agencies under the Ministry of Information and Culture that were sacked earlier today.

1. The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate disengagement of the following Chief Executive Officers of the underlisted Parastatals, Agencies and Commissions.
2. He has also approved that the most senior officers in the Parastatals, Agencies and Councils oversee the activities of the organizations pending the appointment of substantive Chief Executive Officers.
