We present to you the brave Nigerian hero pilot who save passengers and crew aboard the Bristow helicopter which crashed in Lagos state on Wednesday due to a mechanical fault.

The first Nigerian female helicopter pilot, Captain Abimbola Jayeola, has been unveiled as the captain aboard the Bristow helocopter that ditched in the Atlantic Ocean on Wednesday. The helicopter is said to have crashed near Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.

According to Bristow, what happened was a prepared ditching, which means that the pilot noticed fault and decided to crash land.

Her split-second decision saved the lives of everyone onboard and several families linked to them. She hails from Abeokuta in Ogun state and she is a 2008 graduate of the Bristow Academy in Florida, USA.

The Accident Investigations Bureau (AIB) later said that crew members as well as passengers aboard a chartered Bristow helicopter which crashed on Wednesday while flying from Port Harcourt to Lagos, survived the accident
