The breathing street
An empty street has been caught on camera breathing in and out sending fearful chills washing down residents.
A creepy video has captured the moment a street in Italy appeared to breathe in and out - and it's dividing viewers searching for an explanation.
The bizarre video shows the cobbles on the street moving upwards as though they are inhaling, before falling back flat.
A barrier is placed over the uneven stones in a bid to prevent pedestrians walking over it.
A theory posted on an Italian news site says: "The effect occurs when the waves break near the shoreline, producing an air pressure under the floor that pushes up through the small cracks as if the earth were breathing."
But other viewers were more sceptical.
One YouTube user wrote: "Clearly fake, anyone who has been on the internet can see its computer animation, you don't even have to look close... the bricks are not moving realistically at all...
The footage has now been viewed more than 809,000 times since it was shared on YouTube by Citta Della Spezia News.
