If you could share advice with a twenty year old, what would it be, guys? What should one do in their 20s to avoid regrets in their 30s and 40s?
Here's mine:
1. Find the right direction for your life and immediately start work on making your dream life a reality.
We now live in a world that demands a lot from us; the job market is competitive, prices are high, stakes are high and we all feel the pressure. You can't afford to be 30 and still be financially dependent on anybody.
2. Ask questions. Nobody knows it all. Nobody has all the answers. Listen, in your twenties, more than ever, you should never be afraid to ask for more information.
Knowledge is power, and it is up to you to educate yourself. There are essential skills to life that we are often not taught in school; financial advice, networking, reducing stress, how to meet a great guy/lady and get married in one year etc. If you find yourself wondering or unsure, ask. Seek out information, Google, be bold in your pursuit of knowledge.
3. Get into a covenant with God.
I purposely didn't want to say get born again, because that statement means a lot of different things to different people. But one thing every 20 something year old must do to succeed and avoid regrets later on while in their 30s and 40s is - get into a working, personal relationship with God. Let your life, your will, everything you do depend on 'What will Jesus do?''
Pray, pray, fast, pray, pray. Ask God to take the wheel in your life. He will direct your life. He will make your path straight, where many fail you will succeed because the hand of God is in you, on you.
What else do you have to add to the list, guys? Let's share.
