TIME magazine has on thursday unveiled its 13th annual "TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World'' list featuring a diverse range of prominent public figures, from Nicki Minaj, Mark Zuckerberg and Leo DiCaprio to NBC News' own Lester Holt.
Seven high-profile individuals landed on the six covers: DiCaprio, Minaj, Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan, "Hamilton'' star Lin-Manuel Miranda, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christina Lagarde and actress and singer Priyanka Chopra.
Others on the list include Pope Francis, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Adele, John Kerry, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Stephen Curry, Paul Ryan, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and mixed-martial arts star Ronda Rousey.
The list, which features 40 women, takes into account those who have inspired others, positively or negatively, and each person on the list has a profile written about him or her by another notable figure.
Obama has made the list for the 11th time in 13 years, Clinton is making her 10th appearance and German chancellor Angela Merkel is appearing for the eighth time. The youngest person to make the list is Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky, a swimmer expected to play a major part of this summer's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. At 87, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is the oldest person to make the list.
