Anenih acted as the state chairman of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) between 1981 and 1983, when he helped Dr Samuel Ogbemudia become elected as civilian governor of the old Bendel state. He became the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) from 1992 to 1993, when he assisted in the election Chief M K O Abiola as president. Anenih was a member of the PDM until early April 2002, when he transferred to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and masterminded the 26 April 2002 declaration of the President Obasanjo at the international conference center Abuja.

NAIJ.com tried to get the details of the ex-PDP BoT chairman’s demise but a family member who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated that he was still fine. As at the time of filing this report, our correspondents were still making efforts to ascertain the truth of the matter as it remains unclear whether the high profile Edo chief has gone to join his ancestors or not.

This unconfirmed report is coming on the heels of the political guru declaring that he has forgiven Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state. Anenih said he has forgiven his foremost political foe and governor of Edo state, who he referred to as his son, adding that he decided to forgive all those who offended him, The Nation reports.

According to him, his health challenges and medical experience made him realize the need to rise above politics and embrace peace with all men. He made the declaration at the 10th anniversary of St Anthony’s Catholic church, Uromi, where the governor and other prominent members were given an award for his services to the church.
