11-year-old girl’s heart, liver, kidneys and cornea were donated to save six lives after she passed away Monday morning in coma. Yating, who was 140 centimeters tall weighing merely 30 kilograms, had been suffering from myasthenia gravis from last July. She was in coma during the last 57 days in intensive care unit in a hospital in Beijing.
The donation surgery took three hours to complete, which was a farewell for Yating to her parents, who waited outside of the surgery room during the whole time. Before the surgery, the medical staff paid a one minute silent tribute to Yating.
